Section Two: One Day Remote Workshops

These art workshops will be held using Zoom and are on days with no school. They each have two 1 hour sections to give the work in the morning time to dry before the afternoon part of the activity. If more workshops become available they will be listed. Students will need a safe place to get messy as they explore materials in different ways.

W2: Jasper Johns Collage

Presidents Day - 2/15 (10am and 3pm): Ages 7-11

Jasper Johns is an artist in the USA who is most known for his depictions of the United States flag. Johns was a leader in the art world during the time he started making art as he pushed at the boundaries of what art is. In this workshop we will take a quick look at the artist, his work, and then dive right into making art. We will get a little messy as we design and explore making our own red, white, and blue painted texture paper to collage with. The first half of the workshop will run at 10-11am and the second half will run at 3-4pm giving the paint some time to dry before we start cutting and creating our own abstract collages of the American flag.
