Tuesdays in December
Batik Pillows: 3 sessions long
Tuesdays, December 7, 14, +21 @ 2:30 pm
Grades 5-8
Week one, we will plan the artwork and draw out the designs on fabric. Week two, we will be using fabric dye to paint the fabric. Week three, we will sew our fabric art together into a pillow and hand stuff them. If participants have enough time they will be able to make more than one pillow. We will be hand sewing and machine sewing.
Gluey Yarn Ornaments

Grades K-6
Glue dipped yarn made into 2D + 3D “lacey” shapes using lots of wiggly lines.(payment plan eligible)
Encaustic Wood Ornaments
Tuesday, December 7th @ 4:30 pm
Grades 2-6
We will use Cray-Pens to decorate/paint wooden ornaments with melted wax. The Cray-Pen is pretty safe to use but everyone will be given a safety demonstration before they begin working as the Cray-Pen is a hot tool. Anyone who is uncomfortable with the tool will have the option to use rubber finger guards. (payment plan eligible)
Tie Dye or Painted Bandanas
Tuesday, December 14th @ 3:30 pm
Grades 2-6
Participants will have the option to try a selection of tie dye techniques or to paint their bandanas with a brush. The bandanas can be rinsed at home after they set overnight and washed in the washing machine separately with cold water. (If you do not have a washing machine at home please check with Miss Liz about picking them up later in the week.) Participants will be able to make up to 3 bandanas.
Tie Dye or Painted Shirts
Tuesday, December 14th @ 4:30 pm
Grades 2-6
Participants will have the option to try a selection of tie dye techniques or to paint their shirts with a brush. Participants may tie dye up to 3 shirts (see***). The shirts can be rinsed at home after they set overnight and washed in the washing machine separately with cold water. (If you do not have a washing machine at home please check with Miss Liz about picking them up later in the week.) ***Shirts are purchased separately from the workshop fee or you may bring your own 100% cotton shirts (Polymer blend fabrics will not hold the dye well.). The shirts to purchase through IYC are $3 each. We have adult and child sizes available to order. These shirts must be ordered by November 22nd due to holiday shipping times. If you sign up after that date or haven’t ordered your shirts by that date please bring your own shirts or contact Miss Liz about local sellers ($4-6 each).
Recycled Materials: Snowflake Ornaments

They don’t look like it, but these snowflakes are made from cardboard tubes, these snowflakes are a great way to reuse things we would normally throw out! Great craft for all ages. (payment plan eligible)
Hot Chocolate Stirrers: 2sessions long (also posted in Mondays)
Monday, December 20th + Tuesday the 21st @ 4:30 pm
Grades 2-6
Day one we will have loads of fun making the stirrers from melted chocolate and adding marshmallows and crushed candy canes for decoration. The chocolate will need to be refrigerated overnight before we pop them out and wrap them as gifts the next afternoon.
